So I'm slowly(is there any other way) building my skills up to become a lowly newbie pirate one day. In the meantime I've been out on a lot more Uni Fleets, however we rarely get into fights as people see us coming a galaxy away and go into hiding. I've been able to get in on a few more kills since my last post here and even had my first death. The first death is always a sore one and probably always remembered. We warped into break up a gate camp and my assigned roll was to tackle the Loki, which I did. Unfortunately he didn't like that so much and shop me on the spot. Sadly he got away, but the rest of his cronies all died.
So it's been fun getting in on a bit more fleets and in some fights, but still it's not enough. We've had people constantly war dec the Uni, which means I have to stay docked up when not out in a fleet. So my time has been spent on my alt(same account so very little SP). Luckily this alt was made before my wanna be pirate and has skills spent all over, including enough to pilot a retriever, but sadly not much in the way of pew pew mods, I can barely outfit a Vexor. So I spend my days sitting in station, reading my kindle and hoping some one forms a fleet, or shooting rocks in my retriever and selling em for a bit of isk as I have no other way to make it right now.
On to the title of this post though, there is just to many damn skills to train. I'll pull evemon and come up with what I want to do and how best to get there, but then something happens and I change my mind and making another training plan.....on and on and on so that now I have like 6 training plans, while a lot of them have stuff in common, the majority of the skills are different.
One day I think how much I'd love to fly a BS, so I buy the BS book, read it, draw up my plans and then realize how much they cost and also that I'd have to learn how to use their big guns also. So then I go back and decide I wanna be a scout, so I buy a scouting book and a cloaking book and read them through the night, only to realize that I want to shoot people, not just look at them from afar while hiding. So at the moment I'm back to thinking I'll start out my pirating days being the best rifter pilot I can be when I leave the Uni and just get all my support skills up, they'll be good to have for any other ship I decide to fly in the future and make me that more competent of a pirate. WAIT WAIT WAIT, it's not much to learn how to fly an ASSAULT FRIG I think...so you can see, I just can't make up my mind. For the time being Mechanic V is being learned as it's a good thing to have no matter what I decide in the end.
I have at least decided that I'm happy with Minmatar ships, so far I've enjoyed the fast tackling Vigil, the small deadly rifter, the brick rupture, the wanna be vagabond stabber and my shield forever hurricane. Now if I can just master each one of them and try to keep my eyes off of all the T2 ships I'll be fine, T2 did I say? Oh I guess I should mention my training plan for a Loki as well!
Well the days are counting down, not much longer till I graduate from the Uni and use all that they've taught me or not taught me to become what we hunt.
Quest to Become a Drunken Pirate
I've recently started playing Eve Online and thanks to a few other Pirate Bloggers I have ran across they have made it seem very fun and satisfying to become a Pirate in Eve. However I am only going to post here of my drunken Pirate Adventures!

I'm on a Kill mail!!
That's right, my very first KM, okay I know, big deal, there were 15 of you guys and only 1 of him. Hey I didn't say I went out and got my first 1v1 kills, I said I got on my very first KM. I didn't even do any damage to the poor guy, but I did my job as a tackler and was the first person to get point on him in my speedy Vigil. Not really for sure why he decided to pop out in front of a Uni fleet uncloaked while he had a cloak fitted. Nor do I care, because guess what? I got on a KM!
Sadly this was the only action our fleet of 2 hours saw, the rest of the time the pirates(yes I want to be one) decided to go dock up when they saw our scouts in system, knowing that normally where 1 uni ship is in low sec there will soon be others.
Hopefully I'm able to get in on more fleets and then the FC decided to go more then 10-15 jumps from Aldrat, as I'm pretty sure that these days any pirates know it's time to do some hiding when we come through. I personally can't wait till I'm on the other side trying to get a quick kill on a uni scouts before the rest of the fleet warps in.

I'm dieing inside
So I'm still trudging along in E-Uni in game, but it's killing me. There are never any fleets going out when I'm online and so that leaves me just sitting around playing fiddlestix or tickling my left nut. I've become what I don't want to be, a missioner! That's right mission running is my Eve life atm. I log in, see if there is a spider fleet to join so that I can gain standing in more then one corp and then I start running missions, I hate it, but I don't know any other way to gain money. Tomorrow I'll log in and be able to fly a hurricane and fit it up to go and do some lvl 3 missions, ugh. But it's better then lvl 2 missions that I'm currently doing in a Rifter.
So the question I ask is how do you go about making money in this game, enough to be able to support a pirate, sure I could just go start being a pirate, but if I failed often, which I expect to do, then after about 10 ships I'm out of em. At that point I'd be stuck being a pirate without a ship, which pretty much means I'm not much of anything in Eve.
At this point I am still wanting to learn some stuff from the Uni, but I haven't learnt anything so far, the classes that they have always occur while I'm at work or asleep, they don't seem to have them for the US evening time zones. WTF? I spent over a month in a queue to join a corp that would teach me stuff, but they only teach stuff to people without jobs or that live in Europe. I've seen a fleet start up twice in the 2 weeks I've been in the Uni, both times at around 12-1 am when I'm logging out. The last two weeks I've spent 10+ hrs mission running on my 2 days off never to see a class or a fleet during that 10 hr period.
I'm starting to think I'll be better off by just heading out to lowsec and start trying to kill people that are more newb then I or that I can bluff into thinking is more newb then I am. It's like I'm a wanna be pirate serving in the armed forces during peace time...help!

So uhm I haven't been drunk much!
I really did plan to have more to report by now, but being new to a game like Eve, I just haven't done much yet. I'm to skeered to go out and pirate as I don't have the income to support it yet. I'm also trying to learn all I can from the good people of Eve Uni, as I knew nothing about the game and they have taught me a few things, some really really important, like how to figure out how to fit a ship!
The good news though is that with all of this slow time I've had time to build up some skills and while my SP is still very very low, it is at least usable for a Rifter with some T2 mods. So for now I won't be doing my pirating, just learning the game while I continue to read and learn from other pirates. I just ran across Lady Shanique, and while not a "pirate", the play style seems to be pretty damn similar to one and the blogs are great reads.
Alright enough for now, I've got to get back to missioning :(, so I can try to get up to L4 missions and make me some isk.

I wanna be a Pirate!
Yarrr, okay I'm just practicing. So I've recently started playing Eve Online and I don't know for sure why I've held out after all these years as it seems like kick ass game so far. My route to Eve was in trying a 14 day free trial, after enjoying those 14 days, I looked further into it and saw that I could get a 21 day buddy account. I searched around and found some one on the MMORPG.COM forums that would pay me 10 million ISK to use his buddy code and another 100 milllion ISK if I was to then use that code and make a full account. This of course allowed him to have 30 days of free game play. Well I did it and he paid up(not a very good pirate). If some how some one decides to read this and isn't already playing Eve and would like to give it a try then please do let know and I'll give you one of those 21 day free buddy keys along with some ISK(in game money) to get you started.
So I made a new character(Gallente) and started playing the game with no direction at all. I wanted(and still do to some degree) to do everything in the game. Eve has so many things to do, so my skill set was completely fucked up. I was learning some skills to help me fight, some to help me mine better and even some for some industrial shit and planetary interaction skills. Then since I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do but I had seen posted a few times in the newbie chat that Eve Uni was the corp to join to learn various facets of the game I jumped on it and joined them. So far so good and I've learned a few things, been in a few fleets and gotten on a few kill mails after only a week of being with them.
Well in the meantime while at work I've ran across a couple of Blogs from Eve Pirates, most notably Mynxee and Wensley. Reading their blogs has has made me want to become a Pirate. I felt like I had screwed my character up though as a Pirate doesn't need to know anything about mining or building shit, they just need to know about blowing shit up or scaring some one into thinking they are going to blow their shit up enough that they pay you not to.
So at this point I was in a dilemma, after 2 weeks of training and just getting out of my bonus training time I could start learning skills towards becoming a pirate on my initial guy or I could make a new one and start training correctly on it while continuing to learn in Eve Uni. Well I chose the latter, so at this time I have like 4 days of training going on Alister Fiend, needless to say I am a long ass ways to becoming a Pirate like those I've mentioned above.
At this time I'm biding my time and learning what I can from the Uni on my first character while training up all my training skills on my wanna be Pirate. I can only get drunk and invision the glory days before me, although with a game like Eve that could be in a year before I actually get in on any good Pirating, but I'm in it for the long haul.
I've thought about seeking out some Pirates to learn the trade from, however that scares me, because if you've heard anything about Eve Online, the most important thing you have learned is to not trust anyone. So I just know that I'd have some Pirates invite me out to teach me some tricks and then of course blow my ship up and then try to pod me to teach me that first lesson of not trusting anyone.
I hope to keep you updated in my trials ahead and I'm sure you can expect more rambling from a wanna be drunken pirate in the future, until then keep pew pewing away and fly reckless.
