I'm on a Kill mail!!

That's right, my very first KM, okay I know, big deal, there were 15 of you guys and only 1 of him. Hey I didn't say I went out and got my first 1v1 kills, I said I got on my very first KM.  I didn't even do any damage to the poor guy, but I did my job as a tackler and was the first person to get point on him in my speedy Vigil.  Not really for sure why he decided to pop out in front of a Uni fleet uncloaked while he had a cloak fitted. Nor do I care, because guess what? I got on a KM!

Sadly this was the only action our fleet of 2 hours saw, the rest of the time the pirates(yes I want to be one) decided to go dock up when they saw our scouts in system, knowing that normally where 1 uni ship is in low sec there will soon be others.

Hopefully I'm able to get in on more fleets and then the FC decided to go more then 10-15 jumps from Aldrat, as I'm pretty sure that these days any pirates know it's time to do some hiding when we come through.  I personally can't wait till I'm on the other side trying to get a quick kill on a uni scouts before the rest of the fleet warps in.

I'm dieing inside

So I'm still trudging along in E-Uni in game, but it's killing me. There are never any fleets going out when I'm online and so that leaves me just sitting around playing fiddlestix or tickling my left nut.  I've become what I don't want to be, a missioner!  That's right mission running is my Eve life atm. I log in, see if there is a spider fleet to join so that I can gain standing in more then one corp and then I start running missions, I hate it, but I don't know any other way to gain money.  Tomorrow I'll log in and be able to fly a hurricane and fit it up to go and do some lvl 3 missions, ugh.  But it's better then lvl 2 missions that I'm currently doing in a Rifter.

So the question I ask is how do you go about making money in this game, enough to be able to support a pirate, sure I could just go start being a pirate, but if I failed often, which I expect to do, then after about 10 ships I'm out of em.  At that point I'd be stuck being a pirate without a ship, which pretty much means I'm not much of anything in Eve.

At this point I am still wanting to learn some stuff from the Uni, but I haven't learnt anything so far, the classes that they have always occur while I'm at work or asleep, they don't seem to have them for the US evening time zones. WTF?  I spent over a month in a queue to join a corp that would teach me stuff, but they only teach stuff to people without jobs or that live in Europe. I've seen a fleet start up twice in the 2 weeks I've been in the Uni, both times at around 12-1 am when I'm logging out.  The last two weeks I've spent 10+ hrs mission running on my 2 days off never to see a class or a fleet during that 10 hr period.

I'm starting to think I'll be better off by just heading out to lowsec and start trying to kill people that are more newb then I or that I can bluff into thinking is more newb then I am.  It's like I'm a wanna be pirate serving in the armed forces during peace time...help!

So uhm I haven't been drunk much!

I really did plan to have more to report by now, but being new to a game like Eve, I just haven't done much yet. I'm to skeered to go out and pirate as I don't have the income to support it yet.  I'm also trying to learn all I can from the good people of Eve Uni, as I knew nothing about the game and they have taught me a few things, some really really important, like how to figure out how to fit a ship!

The good news though is that with all of this slow time I've had time to build up some skills and while my SP is still very very low, it is at least usable for a Rifter with some T2 mods. So for now I won't be doing my pirating, just learning the game while I continue to read and learn from other pirates.  I just ran across Lady Shanique, and while not a "pirate", the play style seems to be pretty damn similar to one and the blogs are great reads.

Alright enough for now, I've got to get back to missioning :(, so I can try to get up to L4 missions and make me some isk.
